Minutes of meeting
January 12, 2008

This meeting was mainly a discussion about the new mining rules and how they are confusing and were supposed to be simplified and less burdensome but are not.  We as small scale miners are covered by the 1872 mining laws.  It was discussed about some of the changes proposed in Washington and how it would benefit all if we could show support to Resources Coalition.  We need to attend the hearings on this in Olympia on the first and second of February and testify as to how we feel and make ourselves heard.

We then broke into groups for a planning session and tried to decide what we would like to build as far as equipment goes for the group.  A lot of good ideas were circulated throughout the room and it was decided that we would build at the next meeting. Larry Antill has offered to build a large rock crusher for the group and donate it to them. Bella Kovacs has offered the use of his shop.  Thank you Bella and Larry.

A discussion was raised about what we want to bring to donate to the raffles, and everyone decided to think on that and it would be discussed at the next meeting.

The next scheduled meeting will be on February 9, 2008 at Elim Lutheran Church in Port Orchard, WA. from 1:00- 3:00 P.M.  See you all there.

Respectfully submitted,
Marcia Antill, Secretary
