GPAA Minutes August 9, 2008

The meeting was called to order at 1:00 P.M. by President Rob Matthews

Pledge of Allegiance was recited

There were 31 members in attendance

There were 2 visitors

The minute from the last meeting were not read and approved because of the picnic last month no minutes were taken...

Treasures Report: There were 750.04 in our account

Committee Reports:

President: Rob Matthews - Nothing to report

Vice president: Lonnie Meadows- Nothing to report

Claims Committee: Jon Demars - Nothing to report

Claim Inspector: Don Kirst – Nothing to report

Equipment Manager: Bela Kovacs-. Bela was asked about equipment available for use by chapter members. He was asked to get a list of equipment to Sandy Caldwell to post on our website.

Raffle Coordinator:  Nothing to report

Legislative Updates: Wayne Plemmons-   It was announced that we have 100.00 in  the coffee can fund , which  is our legal fund

Old Business:

A count was taken and no one was going to Burnt River on August 30, 31, September 1, 2008. Rob was going to notified  the caretaker. It was brought up that GPAA/LDMA was having an outing  the following weekend at Blue Bucket Mine.

New business: 

Cal Blackburn  discussed a trip he made to Money Creek. It was agreed that it was worth checking out if there are any claims available in that area. Rob Matthews and Rich Duskatko would check into it.

JARPA  permits were discussed. The Powell’s have applied and received their permit, they shared their information. Sandy Caldwell will call Lisa Woods to get needed information and then post it on the website.

Next meeting:  September 13 at  Ocean Shores -Beach mining Outing.  Sandy Powell agreed to check on a camp ground for group camping.

We were asked to help Bedrock on Aug. 30-31 at Cabalas in Lacey. Sandy Caldwell will post information on website.

Items introduced by John  Dykstra Community involment during Beach Mining outing, possibility litter patrol.  More discussion about banner, but no decision made. T shirts were discussed. Adding a few dollars to the cost of the shirts, to use as a fundraiser.  No action was taken at this time.

Meeting was adjourned and a raffle held as a fundraiser.
